Barnet vs Milton Keynes Dons Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Steve Ashfield | in FA Cup Prediction
Barnet attempt to cause another FA Cup upset and reach the third round and a possible tie against a Premier League or Championship side. The National League outfit host League One strugglers MK Dons who had a tough time getting to this second round. Barnet flit between the English Football League and the National League. They were relegated in 2018 and are currently 18th in the table with only two league wins this season and two points above the relegation zone That’s a problem for another day, though relegation to National League South would be a disaster. The 2018/19 season saw them reach the third round and beat Sheffield United (then In the Championship). The cup upsets have continued this season despite their poor FA Cup form. They beat League One Burton Albion in the first round. That was despite playing the second half with only ten men. Barnet have actually won more FA Cup ties this season than league games with their latest league game on Tuesday being a home 0-0 draw with Hartlepool United. That makes it just three goals scored in their last six matches. Only one of their last seven home FA Cup ties has been lost, that was to Fleetwood Town from League One last season.
MK Dons have made a poor start to their season but form has picked up in recent weeks. They are currently 17th in League One but only a point above the relegation zone. Only one of their first eight league games was won but they have only lost one of the last six. Tuesday saw them come from 2-0 down to get a 2-2 home draw with Shrewsbury in League One. Their only recent losses have been to the Southampton U21 side and last weekend, top-of-the-table Hull City. They had problems in their FA Cup first round tie, needing to go to penalties to win at National League Eastleigh. Away form has improved with no losses in the last three games. Two clean sheets have been kept and they won at promotion-chasing Sunderland. That was a rare away win over 90 minutes. Since September 2019, there has only been two. This won’t be an easy task away at Barnet, a bet on under 2.5 goals looks likely to be a winner. That stat has come up in three of the last four MK Dons away matches, failing to score in three of them and only once in the last six have Barnet scored more than once in a game with none in their last two home matches.
