Barcelona vs Sevilla Prediction & Betting Tips - LaLiga
by Daniel Ngulu | in LaLiga Prediction
Barcelona and Sevilla, the only sides still holding a perfect record in La Liga will face off this Sunday at Camp Nou in the fifth week of the campaign. Hosts Barca are placed fifth, above sixth placed Sevilla on goal difference and after straight wins in their opening two games, it will be interesting to see how this pans out. After a poor season in 2019/20, Barcelona have been restructuring, and have started on a high, with new manager Ronald Koeman guiding the team to two straight wins and seven goals scored in the process. The Catalans opened their season with a 4-0 win over Villarreal and followed it up with a 3-0 win over Celta Vigo. In their most recent game though, they had Clement Lenglet sent off in the first half and will have to restructure in the Sevilla game. It has so far been a good start for youngster Ansu Fati, who has scored three goals in the two matches and Barcelona, who have also benefitted from two own goals in the two matches will be hoping to beat a title challenger. The hosts have not conceded a goal this season, which is very positive considering their ending last season, highlighted by the 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich. They have seven wins in the last 10 league matches and have scored two or more in six of the 10. With one loss in 32 home games in the league, Barcelona are outright favorites and are unbeaten in four straight matches against Sevilla. In their most recent meeting the teams drew 0-0 but Barcelona had won the earlier three.
Last season, Sevilla won the Europa League and finished in the top four, to mark a successful season and after a good start in La Liga, they will feel they have what it takes to face Barcelona in Catalunya. However, they have not been as expressive in attack as Barcelona have been, scoring only four goals in their two league matches so far and earlier suffered a 2-1 loss to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Super Cup. In their last match, Sevilla beat Levante with a last-minute goal, just as they did against Cadiz earlier, with two last-minute goals to win 3-1 after coming from behind. They have not led at half time in any of their last four league matches and with one win in 16 meetings with Barcelona, who have led at half time in four of their last five matches, Sevilla are clear underdogs. Sevilla are however on an unbeaten run of eight away games, with four wins but they have lost in each of their last 11 matches against Barcelona at Camp Nou.

Our Barcelona vs Sevilla Prediction
Barcelona have been explosive in their opening two matches, scoring seven and haven’t conceded. Sevilla have also registered two wins but have not been as expressive as Barcelona, scoring four goals in the two matches and three of these have come in the 90th minute. Fixtures at Camp Nou are never Sevilla’s favorite; they have lost each of their last 11 here and will want to employ a better strategy this time. Barcelona are known to be very strong in the first half of their matches and have led at the break in four of their last five league matches. On the other hand, Sevilla have not led at the break in their last four matches and looking at their record against Barcelona, we are backing the hosts to lead at half time and full time.
