Balestier Khalsa have had a mixed start to the new Singapore Premier League season. They are fourth in the table and host Hougang who are a place and a point below them. The home side didn't get their season off to a good start as they lost 1-0 away at current leaders Tampine Rovers. Their first home league game of the season nearly produced three points. They led twice in the game against Albirex Nilgata but conceded an 89th minute equalizer. Their first league win finally came as they won 2-0 away at Young Lions, who have lost all three of their games this season and prop up the table.
