Leipzig reached the final of the DFB Pokal last season but fell 4-1 to Borussia Dortmund. This time they will be hoping to do better and as the competition enters the second round, they will be traveling away to Regionalliga side Babelsberg. For Babelsberg, it is their first participation in the cup competition since 2016 and they will be hoping to see off another topflight side after eliminating Greuther Furth in the last round. The hosts have managed more than a goal in just one of their last five matches, and they have one clean sheet in the process. Both teams have scored in four of the team’s last five matches and in three of the last four at home, they’ve conceded two goals in each.
