Austria will hope to rise again after a disappointing end to their Nations League campaign. They are set to start their World Cup qualification campaign with a home match against Romania. Read on for our prediction of this Group H encounter.

Austria and Romania meet for the first time in five years. The last time they clashed, Austria emerged winners and will be targeting the same here.

The hosts are also looking to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to Serbia, which ended their chase for promotion to League A. The result also means they are winless in the last three outings. With just one loss in six matches, though, they have somewhere to start from. 

Romania might have lost to Bosnia in their opening match in this group, but they are on a really steady run. After their matchday one defeat, they recovered to hit San Marino 5-1 and will go into this one looking to extend the same.

The visitors have seven wins in their last eight matches and will be looking to join Bosnia at the group summit. Heading into this game, there is an area of improvement that Romania will want to work on; their defence.
