Freiburg’s top four push in the Bundesliga sees them come up against the unbeaten streak of Augsburg in a matchday 24 fixture on Sunday at the WWK Arena. This match sees the 11th-placed Fuggerstädter welcome the 4th-placed Breisgau-Brasilianer, and our prediction is an away win.

Augsburg’s 31 points put them seven points behind an unlikely European qualification spot. Freiburg have 39 points and are just three points behind third-placed Eintracht, but just three points ahead of seventh-placed Stuttgart.

Last weekend saw Augsburg win 3-0 away at Monchengladbach, extending their unbeaten run to seven matches. They have equalled the club record, and creating a new record could depend on maintaining their defensive strengths. The hosts have three clean sheets in a row, although they have conceded three in the reverse fixture.

The recent home form is iffy, though, as Augsburg lost two and drew one of their last four league matches at this venue. Freiburg have an excellent recent record against Augsburg, winning seven of their last eight against them. The visitors are also coming off an impressive run of wins, having picked up four victories in a row after a 5-0 home result over Werder Bremen last weekend.
