Tomas Martin Etcheverry is the 26th seed in the outdoor hard court Cincinnati Open, but he's not in the best of form at present. Round two sees him take on unseeded Terence Atmane and our prediction is he can take advantage of Etcheverry's current struggles.

The winner will take on either unseeded Cameron Norrie or top seed Alexander Zverev in the last 32.

Terence Atmane only played four matches in his first round match. He led Marton Fucsovics 3-1 when his opponent retired. That swift win took his outdoor hard court record this year to 11-10. He was in good form in Montreal earlier this month, reaching round three.

That saw him beat both Jack Draper and Karen Khachanov, before being beaten by Jakub Mensik. Before that, he had beaten Frances Tiafoe in Washington, avenging a loss to him at Wimbledon.

Atmane is 45th in the world, 14 places below his opponent.

They have met twice and Etcheverry leads 2-0. However, both matches were played on clay.

Etcheverry has only won five of his 12 matches played on this surface in 2026.  He also played in both Washington and Montreal, losing in his first match on both occasions and only winning 13 games. On all surfaces, he has failed to win a set in each of his last three matches.
