Atletico Madrid are third in the La Liga table, three points behind leaders Real Madrid. They host Valencia who are eighth in the league but will draw level on points with Atletico if winning this match. The home side have only lost one of their eigth league games this season, a 2-0 loss away at Real Sociedad. As is often the case with Atletico, there aren't always a lot of goals being scored in their games. Just the 11 in eight and five of those came in a 3-2 win over Eibar. Their last home league games have both ended in goalless draws with 11 out of 14 this year having under 2.5 goals scored in them.

Valencia have had an inconsistent start to the new season but are only six points off the top of the table, though just five above the relegation zone. They only managed a point from their first two league games before beating Mallorca (currenly in the bottom three) at home. A 5-2 hammering at Barcelona followed and two more draws. Valencia got back into winning ways with victories at Athletic Bilbao and at home to Alaves (17th in the table). Valencia might expect to be a hit higher in the table considering only three out of eight games have been played away from home. Five of their eight league games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. The tip here is for that stat to again come up.
