Going to this game, Atletico suffered a 2-0 loss to Athletic Bilbao, which was the fourth game in five matches that they failed to score. Four of their last five matches have produced under 2.5 goals and they have only scored two goals in the last five matches. Atletico have two clean sheets in seven matches but at home, they are unbeaten in seven games. They’ve lost only once in the last 10 matches at home. However, in their last eight competitive matches against Real Madrid, Atletico have registered no win; they've lost four and failed to score in six.

Real Madrid come into this game on a high; they have bagged the league title and staged a great comeback to book a place in the Champions league final.
