Last season Atletico Madrid exited the Champions League at the group stage but wen on to win the Europa League. This season is even more important for them because the Champions League final just happens to be being held on their home ground and they'd hate to see rivals Real Madrid win it there. Atletico got this season's campaign off to a good start with a 2-1 away win at Monaco and they will be confident of getting another three points from this game. The weekend saw them go to Real Madrid and come home with a draw taking their unbeaten run to five games. They may have lost in the group stages last season but are still unbeaten in their last five Champions League matches and have only one loss in their last 14 home games in this competition.

Club Brugge lost their opening fixture losing 1-0 at home to Borussia Dortmund and another loss here will leave them in big trouble. They are top of the Belgian league with eight wins and a draw from their first nine games but it's a different story when playing in Europe. They have gone 11 games in the Champions League without getting a win and just one victory in the last 17. On their travels the last six have been lost with just three goals scored and the Belgians have gone eight without a win. This looks booked for an Atletico Madrid home win.
