The quarter final match ups for the UEFA Champions League are done and the first on Wednesday will see Italian side Atalanta face off with French giants PSG in Lisbon. Atalanta saw off Valencia 8-4 on aggregate in the round of 16 while PSG overturned an away loss to Borussia Dortmund to win 3-2 on aggregate. The Italians head here on the back of a good season in the Serie A and they continue to punch above their weight as they eye a place in the semi finals. They lost 2-0 to Inter Milan on the final day of the Serie A, to finish third in the league but that was their only loss in 20 matches. It also marked the first time in 31 matches that Atalanta failed to score and their attack has been among the best in Europe this season. The team scored 98 league goals, and was the best in attack in Italy with Luis Muriel, Daniel Zapata and Josip Ilicic scoring 51. They head to this game unbeaten in five straight Champions League matches and have four straight wins in the competition. Atalanta’s scoring form has seen the team net at least twice in their last four Champions League matches but their defence has managed just two clean sheets in the eight matches played in the competition this season. Atalanta have injury concerns to key players including goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini and centre-back José Luis Palomino while a combination of family and fitness issues may lock out striker Josip Ilicic.

PSG on the other hand, have played two competitive matches since March 2020 following the cancellation of Ligue 1 due to coronavirus. They head to this clash with wins in the French Cup and League Cup over St Etienne and Olympique Lyon and will be looking to go all the way in the Champions League. They have six wins, a loss and a draw in their last eight Champions League matches and have scored in each of their last 32 matches in the competition. The last time PSG failed to score in the Champions League was in 2016, against Manchester City. In five of their eight matches in the competition this season, PSG have scored two or more goals and they have six clean sheets, after only conceding against Real Madrid and Dortmund. PSG will have a number of concerns ahead of this game; left-back Layvin Kurzawa and central midfielder Marco Verratti are injured while striker Kylian Mbappé is a doubt with a sprained ankle. Meanwhile, Ángel Di María is suspended for the clash.
