There aren't many occasions when you host a team that has just won an away game 13-0. That's the case as Atalanta play at home to Ajax in the Champions League. These two sides had contrasting results in midweek and the weekend. The first set of games in Group D of the Champions League saw Atalanta beat Midtjylland 4-0 away, while Ajax lost 1-0 at home to Liverpool. Then at the weekend, Atalanta lost at home to Sampdorai 3-1, while in the Netherlands, Ajax were busy destroying VV Venlo 13-0. 

Atalanta reached the quarter finals of this competition last season, before losing to PSG. They have won two and drawn with Manchester City in their last three home Champions League games. However, they come into this match having lost their last two games in Serie A, conceding seven goals. Six competitive games this season have seen 31 goals scored with both teams getting on the scoresheet in each of them. Ajax top the Dutch league and had that crazy 13-0 away win on Saturday. They are so inconsistent though, two of their last four games have been lost without scoring and the other two saw them win and score 18 goals. Their away form in the Champions League is highly impressive with no losses in the last 15 games played over the past four years. That run has included wins against Juventus, Tottenham and Real Madrid. They have scored in ten of their last 11 away Champions League games and going back to 2012, they've only failed to score on their travels in five of the last 27.
