Aston Villa vs Tottenham Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Nella Wagah | in Premier League Prediction
Just over a week ago, Tottenham Hotspur were beaming with confidence and had a classy performance to see off Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 in the Europa League for their sixth straight win. All that has however evaporated, and the team has now lost the last two matches ahead of their away game against Aston Villa. Spurs are currently eighth in the league standings with 45 points, four ahead of their hosts Villa who are placed ninth. Aston Villa are gunning for a place in Europe after an improved season and going to this game, they’re seven points below the Europa League spot. They have just one win in the last six matches and haven’t been scoring a lot too. In the last nine league matches, Villa haven’t managed over one goal while they’ve conceded two or more in three of the last 10 matches. Seven of their last 10 matches have produced under 2.5 goals, and Villa have failed to score in three of their last six league matches. It is different for Villa at home though; they have five clean sheets in the last seven home matches, and five wins in the last 12 home matches. The good news at Villa camp, is that talisman Jack Grealish is back in training, and could be back for this game, having missed the last five league matches.
Tottenham’s season got worse with their elimination from the Europa League on Thursday after suffering a 3-0 loss in Zagreb. They have now suffered back to back defeats and conceded five goals in the two matches while scoring just one. More, one of their key forwards Son Heung-min is injured while Eric Lamela will be suspended for this game after his red card against Arsenal in the last league match. Jose Mourinho’s side has three wins in the last four league matches but has continued to frustrate defensively, with just three clean sheets in the last 10 matches. They’ve lost six of their last 10 matches in the league and away from home it has been worse. In five away league matches, Spurs have one clean sheet and four losses. They have won just twice in the last 10 away league matches and five of the last eight away league games have produced over 2.5 goals. They are currently three points below the Europa League slot.

Our Aston Villa vs Tottenham Prediction
Things are getting bad at Tottenham Hotspur and their elimination from the Europa League is testament to that. They’ve been very poor in their last two matches and Aston Villa will be hoping they can pile the pressure. Spurs haven’t been good on the road, and heading here from a Europa League away game will sure leave them at a disadvantage. Aston Villa are set to have their talisman, Jack Grealish back and will be well rested too. Back Villa for a win here.
