Aston Villa vs Arsenal Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier League Prediction
Last season, Aston Villa battled relegation but this season they have Champions League hopes. They will be looking to boost this when they host Arsenal in the Premier League. Villa have 32 points, in ninth place and Arsenal are 10th on 31 points. A win here could see Villa rise to seventh place and with a game in hand. At the moment, they are six points below the Europe League spot, which should be a realistic target for them. The team is coming from a 3-1 loss to West Ham United but will be happy that lead scorer Ollie Watkins scored his third goal in four matches. The defeat left Villa on five losses and two wins in their last eight matches, while they have just two clean sheets in the process. The team was once hailed as the best defensive team but the standards have really sunk lately. They have conceded two or more in three of the last five matches. It has been better at home though. The team has three clean sheets in the last four league matches at home and three of five at home have seen over 2.5 goals scored. They have failed to score in just one of the last five home matches and with Watkins scoring three in the last five matches, the team has a reason to be positive. Tapping into Watkin’s form will be key, since their home run in the league hasn’t been very encouraging, with two wins and four losses coming from the last seven.
Arsenal had to endure a tough outing at the Molineux in their last game, which ended in a 2-1 loss to Wolves. The Gunners started well, hit the post, had a goa disallowed and took the lead before conceding twice and seeing two men sent off, one controversially. Arsenal will feel really let down by the VAR system that okayed a red card to David Luiz and a penalty in the loss to Wolves. That defeat left them with one win in the last four matches and no win in the last two league games. This was however their only loss in the last eight league matches, and they have five wins in the run. Three of Arsenal’s last four league matches have produced over 2.5 goals. They have found a winning formula away from home, with three victories in the last four in the league and will hope it plays out the same way here. However, they will have David Luiz and first choice keeper Bernd Leno suspended after receiving red cards against Wolves. Some reprieve they will have is that skipper Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is back.

Our Aston Villa vs Arsenal Prediction
Arsenal suffered a 3-0 loss in this fixture at home earlier in the season, but head to Villa Park a much improved side. They have been scoring consistently and most of their recent games have ended in over 2.5 goals. Aston Villa’s matches have also been high scoring lately, and over 2.5 goals for this looks very likely.
