Arsenal will probably be glad when the Premier League season is over as it hasn't been at all a successful one for them. They start the weekend in sixth place, a rather depressing 33 adrift of the top of the table and only 30 off the bottom. This season is all about winning the Europa League now as they bid to get back into the Champions League next season. Their failure in the Premier League has been more down to a terrible away record than performances at the Etihad with five straight defeats including one at Newcastle last week. Home form is a different story with only the two Manchester clubs beating them in their last 24 league matches at the Emirates. They will want a win before taking on Atletico and have a good chance of getting one against the Hammers.

West Ham keep looking as if they are going to get out of relegation trouble but never seem to quite manage it. They are six points clear of the bottom three going into this game and had to rely on a late Andy Carroll goal to get a point at home to Stoke last Monday. The Hammers only have one win in their last six league games and it's that 3-0 home victory over 18th placed Southampton that has them nearly safe. After this game they still have the two Manchester sides to play plus Everton and Leicester so not the easiest of run-ins. Away form in the Premier League has three defeats in the last four. The tip is for Arsenal to put more pressure on West Ham with a home win.
