Arsenal got a creditable draw at home to Liverpool at the weekend and that took their unbeaten run to 14 games in all competitions. They top this Europa League group by three points having won all of their three matches to date. They kicked off with a 4-2 home win over Vorksla Poltava and then won 3-0 at Qarabag. It was as expected much tougher for the Gunners away at Sporting Lisbon but a late Danny Welbeck goal gave them the three points. A win at home to the Portuguese side in this reverse fixture will see them win the group with two games to spare. A weakened team will be played but the fringe players have performed well so far in this group.

Sporting are second in the group after beating Qarabag 2-0 and then Vorksla Poltava 2-1 away thanks to goals in the 91st and 93rd minutes. The home loss to Arsenal followed but even if they lose this game, they should still be able to qualify for the last 32. Sporting are third in the Portuguese league, two points behind league leaders Porto and won 2-1 at Santa Clara in their last game. again coming from behind to get a 2-1 win. Their away record in this competition is nothing to write home about with three defeats in the last five. Another one looks to be on the cards here with Arsenal tipped for a home victory.
