America Mineiro and Sport Recife do battle here in the early hours of Tuesday morning in a match that is the final fixture in Gameweek 12 in Brazil. This is an important one at the bottom of Serie A as it features two sides at the wrong end of the table with America Mineiro in 16th (going into the weekend) and Sport Recife in 17th.

It is just nine points for America Mineiro from their opening 11 games with two victories, three draws and six defeats. Their last game saw them lose 1-0 to Atletico Mineiro in a game which is sadly not classed as the Mineiro derby.  That defeat came at home and was only their second of the season here but three draws means that they have only won one of six in front of their own fans.

Sport Recife have picked up just one victory this campaign and sit on just seven points with four draws and six defeats from these games.  Their last game saw them lose 2-1 at home to Fluminese that stretched their winless run to seven with just three goals netted from these fixtures.  On the road, they are without a victory in six though three of these have finished all-square including each of their last two.
