Aleksandr Shevchenko vs Hubert Hurkacz Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Chengdu Open

Hubert Hurkacz is the fifth seed in the outdoor hard court Chengdu Open. In the first round, he faces unseeded Alexander Shevchenko. Hurkacz has played his opponent on four previous occasions and won each of their matches. Two were won in straight sets and our prediction is a similar result here.

In round two, the winner will take on either qualifier Shintaro Mochizuki or unseeded Martin Damm.

Hurkacz is the world number 46 and that's 63 places above his opponent. He has won 13 of his 22 outdoor hard court matches played this year and last month the Hungarian won the Cancun Challenger Tour event. His one tournament since then was the US Open where he lost to eventual runner-up Ben Shelton in the second round.

The last of his four previous matches against Shevchenko was last year.  Hurkacz has only lost one of his last seven sets played against Shevchenko, that was on a tie-break. Two of the last three wins came in straight sets with only five games lost in the match.

Alexander Shevchenko has a 10-12 outdoor hard court record this year. The Russian is really struggling at present with just one of his last seven matches being won.

He even managed to lose twice in the recent tournament in Cincinnati.
