Alex De Minaur vs Daniil Medvedev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open

Daniil Medvedev is the fifth seed at Roland Garros but has only reached one quarter-final at Roland Garros. In the last 16 he takes on Alex de Minaur who is the 11th seed in this outdoor clay court tournament.  Seeded opponents for the winner are Alexander Zverev and Holger Rune. Medvedev reached the last eight here in 2022 but was beaten in the first round last year. He's up to fourth in the live rankings and a place higher in the ATP Race. Unlike last year, Medvedev hasn't won a clay court title in 2024. His best performance has been reaching the quarter-finals in Madrid. To get to the fourth round at Roland Garros, Medvedev has beaten Dominik Koepfer (in four sets), Miomir Kecmanovic (who retired in the second set after only winning one game) and Tomas Machac in four sets, losing the second. He leads de Minaur 6-2 in previous meetings, including the last two. This is their first match on clay though.

Alex de Minaur had never made it past the second round at Roland Garros until this year. The Australian is best known for his success on grass and hard courts but has had some good results on clay in 2024. The quarter-finals were reached in Monte Carlo and the last 16 in both Barcelona and Rome. De Minaur is up to a career-high eighth in the live rankings and in the same position in the ATP Live Race. To get to round four in Paris, he's had wins over Alex Michelsen and Jaume Munar, both in straight sets. Round three was a bit more difficult as he beat unseeded Jan-Lennard Struff in four sets after losing the first. This looks like being another tough match but we tip de Minaur to at least win a set off his opponent.
