Alex De Minaur’s path at Wimbledon has opened up after his second-round win against Arthur Cazaux. The Australian No. 1 will be up against qualifier August Holmgren, with the winner set to face Miomir Kecmanovic or Novak Djokovic. Read on for our prediction of the match.

Last year De Minaur recorded his best performance here in reaching the quarter-finals. While he targets improving on that, the Aussie enters the third round as an outright favorite.

De Minaur hasn’t lost a third-round match this season and comes here having won six of his last 10 matches. That second-round win saw him compile a 29-12 record.

For Holmgren, the Wimbledon fairy tale continues. His debut appearance started from the qualifying rounds. In the main draw, he’s already eliminated Quentin Halys and Tomas Machac in the opening two rounds.

It may work against him, though, the duration he has spent on the court, especially the last round, in which he played over four hours. He saw off Machac in five sets, with four of them needing tiebreakers.

While his experienced opponent has clocked just five hours on the court, Holmgren has already done 14 hours. This could work against him, with fatigue now a real concern.
