Wimbledon host Weymouth for the replay of their FA Cup pairing. With the first game ending 1-1, it is all up for grabs at the Plough Lane. The home side drew with Salford at the weekend, with that result finding them in fifteen place of the League 2 standings. Wimbledon have admittedly faired better on home soil this season, having won four of their last six in front of their own fans. They tend to concede on a regular basis there however, failing to keep a clean sheet in ten of their last eleven at the Plough Lane. Overall, Wimbledon are on a good run and barring any unforeseen drop off in their quality, they should have no issue overcoming the National League South side.
Weymouth played out a courageous draw against Wimbledon in the first game, deservedly managing to take the game to a replay. The National League South side managed to claim an important weekend win against Braintree, putting an end to a four game winless streak. Similarly to their hosts, defence seeks to be an issue for Weymouth, who have kept just two clean sheets in their thirteen games and none in their last twenty-five on the road. It is also worth mentioning the visitors’ impressive run so far in the world’s oldest competition, with Weymouth managing to progress through three qualification rounds before facing off against Wimbledon. They managed to score eight times in those games.
