Borussia Dortmund will look to continue their winning momentum when they travel to Mainz on Saturday for a matchday five fixture of the 2025-26 Bundesliga season. This match at Mewa Arena between the 13th-placed Die Nullfunfer (four points) and the second-placed Die Borussen comes with our prediction of an away win.
Mainz start this round just a point above the relegation zone, while Dortmund are two points behind leaders Bayern and just a point above Leipzig.
A 4-1 away win over Augsburg last weekend was Mainz’s first victory of the league season (W1, D1, L2) after winning just one point from the first three matchdays.
They need to improve their home form, though, as Mainz lost both their league matches played here this season. Both the defeats came by a 1-0 scoreline, and the hosts will hope to change things here.
Dortmund are giving a strong fight to Bayern at the top of the standings this season, dropping points just once in the league (W3, D1). Their last game was a 1-0 home win over Wolfsburg and marked their fourth win in their last six competitive matches.
