Bulls have a great chance of making it into the European Rugby Champions Cup quarterfinals. The South African side host Lyon in the last 16 with the winners facing either Northampton Saints or Munster in the next round. Bulls are the sixth seeds for the knockout stages, five places ahead of their French opponents. They qualified for the knockout stages by finishing second in Pool A. Three of their four matches were won but the only loss was to Lyon. That was played in France though and Lyon only won the match by a single point. Bulls did beat Saracens, Brstol and Bordeaux to progress. The South African team are currently third in the United Rugby Championship and are in good form. They'd won six matches in a row before being beaten by league leaders Leinster. They are a tough team to beat on home soil and have won all five of their home matches in the United Rugby Championship and both in the pool stages of this competition.

Lyon finished third in Pool A with two wins and a couple of defeats. Both of their losses came in the away matches they played at Bristol (despite leading) and at Saracens. They are not having a good season in Top 14 and are currently 11th in the table. Their most recent match saw them beat Bordeaux Begles but that was at home. Away form in Top 14 this season has seen them lose all ten of their matches. Their last 12 on the road have all been lost with no win in 16 away fixtures. We tip Bulls to win this match and defy a handicap of -17 points.
