The Philadelphia 76ers are back home and will host the New York Knicks for game six of the two sides' Eastern Conference playoff matchup. They trail this first-round series 3-2 and are facing elimination. The Sixers need to win here if they are to stay alive in this series and prolong their season. Nick Nurse’s men are coming off a crucial victory in New York in game five. They won 112-106 in OT and had Tyrese Maxey to thank for the victory. The guard tallied a game-high and a playoff career-high 46 points to will his team. With Joel Embiid dealing with his fitness, Maxey hasn’t shied away from being the Sixers' go-to guy. Together with Embiid, they are averaging over 30 points each in this series. Victory here for the Sixers will force a winner-takes-all game seven in New York. The Sixers are averaging 106.8 points in this series and are shooting 44.6% from the field. Robert Covington remains out with an injury.

The Knicks missed a glorious chance to close out this series in front of home support. They will now have to do so on the road. Jalen Brunson is back to his dominant offensive self after a tough start to the series. He is averaging 34.4 points and is the only Knick averaging more than 20 in this series. Brunson scored 40 in game five and 47 in game four. Bojan Bogdanovic suffered an injury in game four and missed the last outing. It has been revealed that the former Utah Jazz player will undergo season-ending surgery to his foot and wrist. He joins Julius Randle in the treatment room.
