The qualifying stages are done and dusted. It's now onto the League Phase. The draws for the Europa and Conference League will commence on the same day, following the Champions League draw, which was just concluded the day before. The 36 teams have already been grouped into their pots, and all that's left is the official draw to determine their league paths. Come see what awaits us!

Understanding the New UEFA Europa and Conference League Draw System

There's been a bit of confusion since the UEFA tournaments pivoted away from the group stages and into the league phases. A fair bit has changed, and new slots have been added, but wrapping your head around it is still just as easy.

We've been following up on both leagues long before this stage, even giving out free Europa and Conference League football predictions every week. The qualifying teams have come a long way, and were also excited for what's to come.

The 36 teams that qualified for the group stages are divided into pots, and from there, a computer automated system will pick a team from pot 1 and then randomly select teams from the other pots as their home and away opponents. There are 4 pots in the Europa with 9 teams per pot, while it's 6 pots and 6 teams per pot in the Conference League. For the Europa League, each team will play against two teams from each pot outside their own, while Conference League teams will only play one team from each other's pot.

By the end of the draw, each Europa League team will be drawn against 8 opponents, and will play 4 home games and 4 away games. The same is true for the Conference League draw, but it's 6 opponents, 3 at home and 3 away.

The same system used for the Champions League draw will be employed for the Europa and Conference League draws. But instead of drawing opponents to all teams one after the other (as in the Champions League), all pairings for the Europa and Conference League will be drawn instantly with a single push of the button.
