The FIBA EuroBasket 2025 is reaching its climax, and the tension doesn't get more tense than it is now. The Final Four have already been confirmed, and one thing that rings true is that a new champion is about to be crowned between Finland, Germany, Greece, and Turkey. Who is punching their ticket to the grand finale, and who's staying behind?

Germany vs. Finland: Surprise packages are out to cause another upset

  • Date & Time: 12 September 2025, 16:00
  • Venue: Xiaomi Arena, Riga.

It's not a surprise that Germany is competing in the semi-finals of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025. Their run in this competition has been phenomenal, to put it mildly.

Die Mannschaft are one of two sides in the competition that have maintained an unblemished record by winning each of their last seven matches. That success can be attributed to an efficient offense that currently ranks as the best.

Germany, though, had a tough outing against Luka Doncic's Slovenia in the quarter-finals. They trailed 32-21 in the first quarter but managed to come back as a better team in the remaining three quarters to make up for lost ground.

In the end, they managed to secure a hard-fought 99-91 victory at the Xiaomi Arena, Riga.

Their next challenge comes in the form of Finland. This has to be considered a reunion clash, having crossed paths in the group stages. It was the well-oiled German machine that came out on top in a 91-61 victory at the Nokia Arena, Tampere. Can they repeat the same feat in this crucial encounter? Well, our Sportytrader betting experts are certain that they can secure another comfortable win in our Germany vs Finland prediction.

Finland's journey in the FIBA EuroBasket has been filled with surprises. Nothing much was expected from the co-hosts other than being ousted in the early stages of this competition.

However, they have proved the doubters wrong and are still going strong. This is their first-ever appearance in the semi-final of the EuroBasket and are out to leave a mark.

The Wolfpack is unfazed by the threat posed by Germany in this round. In fact, they know a thing or two about toppling giants, having done so when they caused a major upset in basketball history by beating tournament favorites Serbia 92-86 in the Round of 6.

After that rare triumph, they went on to beat Georgia 93-79 in Riga, Latvia, in the quarter-finals. Mikael Jantunen was the standout player, leading the team with 19 points. The man of the hour, Lauri Markkanen, contributed 17 points and six rebounds.

Head-to-Head Meetings: Who has the edge?

Friday's meeting between Germany and Finland will mark the 11th time they have crossed paths in a FIBA competition. In the previous 10 meetings, there has been nothing to separate these nations as they stand at a 5-5 record.

Greece vs Turkey: Two European powerhouses vying for a spot in the Final

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece are in high spirits after beating Lithuania 87-76 in the quarter-finals. In fact, this is a historic moment for them.

The Official Beloved tried to progress beyond the quarter-finals in four of their last five attempts, but to no avail. This year has been their long-awaited success, which also marks their appearance in the FIBA EuroBasket semi-finals for the first time in 16 years.

From being called darkhorses to title contenders, Turkey has arguably been one of the best teams in the FIBA EuroBasket behind Germany so far.

The 12 Giant Men have enjoyed a seven-match winning streak in this competition. In the group stages, they finished with a 5-5 record and secured wins against Sweden and Poland in the Round of 16 and the quarter-finals, respectively.

Reaching the semi-finals is a dream come true for this golden generation, as it marks their long-awaited return after 24 years for their second appearance.

Ergin Ataman's men are aiming to clinch their first-ever EuroBasket trophy. The mission is simple in words but tough in execution, given the competition they have to go through to achieve such a feat.

Can Turkey outsmart Greece in the semi-finals and progress to the final, or is this the end of their journey? Find out what our Sportytrader betting experts have to say in our Greece vs Turkey prediction.

Head-to-Head Meetings: Who has the edge?

There have been 14 meetings between these two nations in FIBA competitions. Greece holds a superior record with 11 wins, while Turkey has triumphed just three times.

One cannot ignore the fact that Turkey have lost their last five EuroBasket matches against Greece, which puts them in a very tight corner and hurts their chances of reaching the grand finale, a feat last achieved in 2001 when they finished as runners-up.
