Yulia Putintseva vs Rebecca Peterson Prediction & Betting Tips - Nur Sultan, Kazakhstan, Qualifying

Yulia Putintseva is the top seed for the Astana Open. She bids to reach the final by defeating eighth seeded Rebecca Peterson in the semi-finals with the winner facing either the second seed, Alison Van Uytvanck or unseeded Jaqueline Cristian. Putintseva is the world number 47 but began the year 19 places higher than that. One title has been won this year though with success in the Hungarian Grand Prix (on clay not a race track) in July.  This is her second semi-final in a month, the other being in Slovenia in mid-September. This week has seen her win twice in straight sets but she then had to go to three sets to defeat Anastasia Gasanova.

Rebecca Peterson is ranked 86th but was as high as 53rd in August. The Swede hasn't been in the best of form of late with four successive defeats before the start of this tournament. She did reach the last four in Chicago in August and the semi-final of a clay court tournament in Sweden the month before. Her form has returned in this tournament but it's been a struggle with two three-setters. Four previous matches against Putintseva have seen each player win twice. The most recent meeting was this year in Strasbourg with Putintseva winning in three sets. That was her second win in a row over Peterson with the Swede winning their first two matches in 2017 and 2018. Putintseva looks to be in the better form and can make it three wins in a row.
