Yoshihito Nishioka faces Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round of the hard court US Open. Whoever wins this match will take on either 18th seed Lorenzo Musetti or wild card Reilly Opelka next. Time for our match prediction.
Nishioka is currently 53rd in the live rankings and seven places lower in the ATP Race. The Japanese player is hoping to avoid a fifth consecutive first round loss in this Grand Slam. He'd lost four straight Grand Slam matches before his 2024 Wimbledon second round.
He has a great chance of improving his record if finding the form he was in last month in Atlanta. Nishioka won the ATP Tour hard court tournament and most recently got to the last 32 in Cincinnati.
