League One has some potentially season-defining fixtures this weekend including Wrexham taking on Charlton Athletic. The Red Dragons currently occupy the second automatic promotion slot in the table, but the Addicks could move just a point behind them with a win here. What will our prediction be for this penultimate league match of the season for both teams?

Wrexham have the advantage heading into this game. The Red Dragons lie second in the table with 86 points from 44 games. That leaves them two ahead of Wycombe and four ahead of Charlton, who are fourth in the table with 82 points from their 44 league matches.

A win for Wrexham, combined with a draw or defeat for Wycombe would see the Red Dragons clinch a third straight promotion. However, a win for Charlton would make it a three-team showdown on the final matchday of the season in the race for the second automatic promotion slot.

Charlton’s form has been even more impressive, losing just one of their last 13, winning ten and drawing two. The Addicks have won three in a row, including a 2-1 home win over Northampton and most impressively a 4-0 away win last weekend at third-placed Wycombe Wanderers.
