by Ian John in League One Predictions
Wrexham will be hoping to earn a first home win in four games as they take on Bolton in League One this weekend. The Red Dragons have drawn one and lost two of their last three at home and face a playoff-chasing Trotters side somewhat lacking consistency on the road. Who will our prediction back for this crucial League One clash for both teams?
Despite a blip in otherwise excellent home form, Wrexham still lie third in League One, four points ahead of Stockport, with a game in hand, but now 12 points behind leaders Birmingham, although they are just three points off Wycombe in second. Bolton lie eighth in the table with 53 points, outside the playoff spots on goal difference behind Leyton Orient in sixth and Charlton in seventh.
The Red Dragons have won three of their last four, all those wins coming away from home, including last weekend’s impressive 2-1 win away to Mansfield Town. However, they have lost both their last two at home, losing 3-2 to Stevenage and 2-1 to Leyton Orient.
Bolton’s recent form is good, with five wins in their last six games, scoring 13 goals, conceding eight. They come into this game after a 3-2 win away to Shrewsbury, followed by last weekend’s impressive 2-1 home win over Leyton Orient.

Our Wrexham vs Bolton Prediction
Our prediction for the Wrexham vs. Bolton Wanderers League One match is: Wrexham wins the match.
The Red Dragons have suffered a blip in home form recently, but that has been mitigated by improved away form. Bolton are inconsistent away from home and are yet to beat a top four team on their travels this season. The data suggests this may be a close contest, but Wrexham should be the team coming out of the game with three valuable points to aid their promotion quest.
