Third placed Western Sydney Warriors host Western United who are one from bottom in the A-League. The home side are seven points behind leaders Melbourne City but only two adrift of second placed Central Coast Mariners. Finishing second rather than third is important as that takes you into the play-off semi-finals rather than the quarters. Western Sydney Warriors need to get a win after a loss and then three consecutive league draw but three have been on the road. In two of those drawn games, they had to come from behind to get the point. Home form has only seen them lose one of their six league games with three being won. Two of the last four home league games have been won to nil, including a 4-0 win over Macarthur who are currently sixth in the table.

Western United may only have Melbourne Victory below them but could stil make the play-offs. They are only two points behind the final qualifying position and come into this game unbeaten in their last three league fixtures. Only four of their 14 league games have been won this season but they struggle in defence. They have the worst defensive record in the league with over double the number of goals conceded that their opponents have let in. Away form is a struggle too with four of their six games lost and 16 goals conceded. They did beat the Wanderers at home in December but getting a similar resut on the road is a far more difficult task.
