West Ham United return to the Premier League after a successful European sojourn and will host Wolves on Sunday. Five points separate the two sides coming into this weekend with ninth-placed West Ham having the advantage over Wolves in 13th. West Ham are coming off a 2-0 win over Freiburg at home. The midweek victory ensured they qualified for the knockout rounds of the Europa League as group winners. David Moyes’ men will hope to keep this momentum in their quest to return to winning ways in the league. United were shockingly handed a 5-0 thrashing by Fulham last time out in the competition. The loss ended a six-match unbeaten run and left them six points adrift of the European places. West Ham have won the last three times in which they have been hosts against Wolves.

Wolves are struggling with a lack of consistency and in their last seven outings have won just twice. Gary O’Neil’s men have however not lost in their last two outings and have earned four points in this run. After defeating Burnley 1-0 to end a two-game skid, Wolves drew 1-1 with Nottingham in their last match. The four points have moved Sunday’s visitors 10 points clear from the relegation zone and they will be eager to peel further away. Wolves have earned 19 points but have lost more than they have either won or drawn. Five of their seven defeats have come with them as the away side.
