Wellington Phoenix welcomes Sydney FC to the Wellington Regional Stadium on matchday 14 of the A-League. Wellington Phoenix are tenth in the league standings and are seven points behind sixth-placed Sydney FC. Here's our match prediction.  

Following a second-place finish in the previous season, expectations were leaning towards Wellington Phoenix challenging for the league title this season. However, 11 games in, that hasn't been the case for the team as they are 11 points behind the top spot.

Their performances at Wellington Regional Stadium this season have left much to be desired. They have lost three of their last six matches (W2, D1) including a recent 2-1 routing at the hands of Adelaide United on Saturday.
 
Coming into this match, the Nix will have to address their poor form in the A-League. They have lost five of their last six outings and are currently on a two-match losing streak.  
 
Sydney FC have made a slow start to this season. However, they are not far from the top spot, hindered by a four-point deficit.  
 
The Sky Blues continued with their impressive league form as a 4-1 home thrashing of Central Coast Mariners on Saturday extended their winning streak in the league to two matches. 
 
It's also worth mentioning that they are undefeated in five league matches (W3, D2) since suffering two consecutive defeats.
