Matchday 41 in the English Championship sees 10th-place Watford taking on 19th-placed Hull City at Vicarage Road. The Hornets’ hopes of finishing the promotion playoff spots are fading fast while the Tigers seek more breathing room over the relegation zone. Here’s our match prediction!
A 2-1 away loss at the hands of Bristol City on Saturday has left Watford with a mammoth task ahead of them if they are to secure a spot in the top six. They currently trail sixth-place Bristol by seven points with six games left on the fixture list.
Watford will, in all likelihood, have to be perfect in the run-in if they are to sneak into the promotion playoff positions. Unfortunately for them, they come into this match on a tough run of form, managing only a single win in their last six games (D2, L3).
Hull City, meanwhile, are battling against relegation. The Tigers have a three-point lead over the bottom three, in addition to a superior goal differential.
The visitors come to town looking to make it two straight wins. A dramatic stoppage time winner by defender Charlie Hughes saw Hull City steal all three points in a 1-0 away victory over Sheffield Wednesday on the weekend.
Hull City are now on a run of three wins, two draws and only one defeat over their last six.

Our Watford vs Hull Prediction
Watford have been much stronger when playing at Vicarage Road this season but they’ve hit a bad run of form lately. As a result, the hosts have only managed two wins in their last nine in front of the home support, losing six.
Hull City should be able to take advantage of this downturn of form. They’ll come into this matchup with strong momentum after a stoppage time winner in their last appearance and they’ve been good at getting results over the last month. Our Watford vs Hull City prediction: Hull City double chance.
