Watford and Huddersfield will lock horns at Vicarage Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are currently in 11th place in the league standings while the visitors are 20th. The New Year has already been a topsy turvy one for Watford. They started it unbeaten in their first four but then slipped into mid-table following three consecutive losses since the start of February. That included defeats to Cardiff, Leicester City and Norwich, before edging Rotherham United to a 1-0 away win last weekend. The Hornets are now on 44 points after 33 games, trailing the playoff places by ten points. At home this season, Watford have recorded five wins, five draws, and six losses in 16 Championship games but they are currently in a six-match home winless streak. Watford played out a goalless draw against this opponent earlier in the season but are the bookmakers' favourite heading into this one. 

Meanwhile, Huddersfield Town are outside the drop zone but are far from comfortable, with just two points separating them and Queens Park Rangers, who are the first side below the dotted line. Last week, they conceded their 13th league defeat of the season, beaten 2-1 by Hull City. Notably, The Terriers are now just three losses away from their final tally across the enstire of last season. Since the turn of the year, they have recorded two wins, three draws and three losses in eight matches but did manage to score in each of those games. The visitors have taken 13 points from a possible 48 on the road and are winless in their last seven outings.
