The final round of matches in Group B of the CAF Champions League will see Wydad Casablanca playing host to ASEC Mimosas on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are currently in third place in the group standings, while the visitors are in the lead. Wydad are hoping to make a last-ditch surge to claim a spot in the knockout rounds. They are level on six points with second-placed Simba, who have the advantage in the head-to-head goal difference. Galaxy, who face Simba in the other match in the group, are also still in with an outside chance of stealing a top-two finish, currently on four points. Permutations aside, Wydad have to concentrate on winning this match but were beaten by this opponent 1-0 in the reverse fixture. They have won one and lost one of their two home games in this competition, but do have momentum after claiming their first away victory of the Champions League last week against Galaxy. In addition, Wydad are unbeaten in their last three games against this opponent at this venue. 

Meanwhile, in complete contrast, ASEC Mimosas are under no pressure heading into this match and may even consider rotating their squad to provide some of their fringe players with some minutes. They are five points clear at the top of the group standings and are the only team in Group B with an unbeaten record in the competition. The Mimos booked their place in the knockout stages, holding Simba to a 0-0 draw at home last week, marking their fourth consecutive match without conceding in this competition. While they have excelled in the continental competition, domestically, ASEC have been less impressive, currently fifth in Ligue 1 and trailing leaders Racing d’Abidjan by seven points. Still, they will want to end the group stages on a positive note and look to carry that momentum into the last 16.
