Villarreal will welcome Celta Vigo on Wednesday seeking to get back to winning ways in the Spanish La Liga. Only three points separate the two sides coming into this match with Villarreal in 14th having the advantage over 18th-placed Celta. Villarreal were thumped 4-1 over the weekend away to Real Madrid. Their second defeat in three games was also their ninth in the league and left them just three points above the relegation zone. Marcelino’s men have won only four games but with their recent record against Celta, they will be confident of success here. The Yellow Submarine haven’t lost in four meetings with their soon-to-be visitors and have won both times they have been at home.

Celta Vigo have greatly improved their chances of clawing out of the relegation zone and will be confident of another positive result here. Wednesday’s visitors haven’t lost in five outings and have won twice in this stretch. One of those victories came last Saturday at home against Granada. Rafael Benitez’s men won 1-0 to earn only their second win of the season and move up to 13 points. Only goal difference now is keeping them in the bottom three. The victory came at a cost though as Iago Aspas was sent off and will miss this trip to Villarreal. Aspas has been involved in five goals for the Sky Blues this season.
