Only once has 22nd seed Valentin Vacherot made it to round three of a Grand Slam tournament. He attempts to do so again when he faces unseeded Kamil Majchrzak in round two of the US Open. Majchrzak has struggled for wins of late and our prediction is Vacherot will win this match.

Before this year, Vacherot had never qualified for the main draw of this outdoor hard court Grand Slam. He was at 23rd in the latest ranking list and that was 50 places above his opponent. Round one saw him get a straight sets victory over Aleksandar Kovacevic. That ended a run of four straight defeats.
Kamil Majchrzak is hoping to reach the third round in New York for the second successive year. That's the last time he managed to get that far in a Grand Slam tournament. Three events this year have so far seen him reach two second rounds with one first round exit.7
