Grigor Dimitrov, looking to build on results at the Sunshine Double, will meet wildcard Valentin Vacherot at the Monte Carlo Masters. These two face off in the second round with the winner meeting Novak Djokovic or Alejandro Tabilo. Read on for our prediction of this match.

For the first time in his Monte Carlo Masters career, home boy Vacherot will be playing in the second round. He got this ticket courtesy of a straight-sets win against Jan-Lennard Struff in the first round.

That eased his disappointment after losing in the Bucharest first round and he comes here with six wins in the last 10 matches. Vacherot has so far compiled a 14-9 record.

Dimitrov also won in straight sets his first round outing, beating Nicolas Jarry, to return to winning ways. With that, the Bulgarian recovered from his defeat to Novak Djokovic at the Miami Masters.

With five wins in his last six matches, Dimitrov heads into this fixture as favorite. He has compiled a 10-6 record and will only be playing his second clay match of the season.

This encounter will mark the second time in as many years that the two players face off at the Monte Carlo Masters. In 2024, Dimitrov beat the local favorite in straight sets. With a run of seven wins in his last 10 matches on clay, Dimitrov will still be the favorite here.
