Matchday 30 of the Spanish La Liga sees eighth-place Valencia playing host to 14th-placed Mallorca. Valencia have already shown a massive improvement this season to the team that finished 16th last year. Los Che currently trail sixth-place Real Sociedad by six points but possess a game in hand advantage. With 30 points still up for grabs, a strong run for Valencia in the home stretch could see them qualify for a UEFA competition for the first time since the 2019/20 campaign. Manager Ruben Baraja saw his side fall to a 1-0 away defeat at the hands of Villarreal in their last outing back on 17 March. The result was Valencia’s 10th defeat of the season as their 11-7-10 record has them sitting on a total of 40 points. It’s been an indifferent run of form for the hosts who have managed just a single win in their last five league fixtures.

Mallorca come into this matchup following a 1-0 home win over Granada. Los Bermellones have been on a positive surge lately and have now won three of their last four across all competitions. This run includes their penalty shootout semi-final win over Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey which saw them advance to the final for the first time since being crowned champions in the 2002/03 season. Mallorca have a fairly comfortable lead over the relegation zone as their 6-12-11 record sees them sitting on 30 points and with an eight-point lead over the bottom three. While they are certainly enjoying their football at the moment with the way they have been playing, Mallorca have struggled immensely away from home this season. They’ve managed only a single win from 14 away trips in La Liga, with their sole victory coming all the way back in September, 2023.
