Elimination from the competition will be a welcome break for the team, giving players a chance to focus on the league. Being just a point above the automatic relegation positions, Union Berlin will be going for three points here. They need to rise from two straight losses, the most recent 3-0 against Bochum. Union come into this game with a really poor run, having managed just a win in 19 matches. They are however unbeaten in 10 matches against Cologne and will be banking on such a run. Union Berlin have also avoided defeat at home in the last two matches and will be confident of extending the same here.
