Turkey and Germany will sweat it out for the gold medal in this year’s EuroBasket Men’s Championships. With both teams yet to lose in the tournament, we should be in for a cracker of a decider. In this article, we will have a look at both teams’ strengths and weaknesses, highlighting a bit of the team news to build up at least two predictions for the match.
Turkey, who are seeking their first continental crown, defeated Greece in the semi-finals while Germany, one-time European champions, got the better of Finland. This is the second time these two nations are facing off this year.
Germany, who won the first meeting back in August, are favored by the bookies to win this match. The Turks will be no pushovers, though, as they have fared better over an extensive period against Germany. Making it to the championship match means that both teams are at the very least guaranteed silver.

Turkiye - Germany: Form Analysis
Turkey have been exceptional in this year’s championships. Ergin Ataman’s men have won all eight of their fixtures and have done so with an 18.3 points +/- rating.
Their 91 points a game tally is only bettered by just two other teams, which is the same on the opposite end. The 12 Dev Adam are holding their opponents to 72.9 points.
Turkey had a dominant runout against Greece in the semis, making light work of their opponents and winning 94-68. They shot over 50% from the field and 45% from three to secure only their second Gold Medal match appearance, 25 years after the first.
Turkey are going for their first Eurobasket title but start the final as underdogs.
Germany defeated Turkey at the four-nation DBB Supercup a month ago. They won 73-71 with many of the players in that squad present for this final.
With their exceptional run in this year’s continental showpiece, Germany will arrive confident of rising to their favorites tag. Alex Mumbru’s men have been on a tear in this event.
As the only team averaging 100 or more points, Germany have outscored their opponents by an average of 26.4 points. They defeated Finland 98-86 in the semis. That was the two nations' second meeting of the tournament. In the first encounter, in the group stage, Die Mannschaft won by 30 points.

Turkiye & Germany Squad Analysis
Houston Rockets' Alperen Sengun has been the torchbearer for Turkey at this EuroBasket competition. Playing at Centre or Forward, Sengun leads his team in points, rebounds and assists and he is a firm favorite to win the Most Valuable Player's award.
Sengun stands out but is not alone in Turkey’s race to this point, as Cedi Osman, Ercan Osmani, and Shane Larkin are all averaging at least 11 points in the competition.
Justus Hollatz is battling an ankle injury on his right foot after landing awkwardly and is a doubt here.
NBA and EuroLeague star power make up Germany’s squad. Franz Wagner, Dennis Schroder, Daniel Theis, Tristan Da Silva, and Isaac Bonga are some of the top players on this team.
Schroder and Wagner are both averaging at least 20 points, while Theis is getting six boards together with 11 points.
Germany, however, could be without Justus Hollatz, who joined Johannes Voigtmann on the sidelines in the semis.

Our Turkiye vs Germany Prediction
Our prediction for Turkey v Germany is for the match to have over 165.0 points. Germany and Turkey have been the two outstanding teams at this year’s EuroBasket. Not only have they made the final, but they have both done so without losing a match.
We therefore can expect a cracker of a contest. Germany are the only team to have averaged 100 points in this tournament, while Turkey are the very next team on the list. Both teams also have players gunning for the MVP title. The matchup between Franz Wagner and Alperen Sengun also spices up this showdown.
Turkiye vs Germany - Other Interesting Predictions
Germany to win
There are all the indicators going into this title match, that Turkey's wait for a continetal gong will extend, at least for now. The Germans won the most recent meeting with Turkey a month ago and carry the psychologcal advantage.
They also are the more storied nation in this final and are coming in as world champions. More importantly, Germany do not rely a lot on one player as much as Turkey do with Sengun. For our second prediction, we pick Germany to win.
