The round of 32 in the Coppa Italia sees a clash between two mid-table Serie A sides as Torino hosts Frosinone. The winner of this tie will advance to the round of 16 where they will meet up with Scudetto winners Napoli. These two clubs are even on 12 points in Italy’s top flight with 12th-place Frosinone just edging 13th-place Torino on goal differential. Torino have picked up where they left off last season as they continue their defensive-focused style of play under manager Ivan Juric. The hosts have lost just once at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino this season, although have scored just four goals in their six total matches. They advanced to this stage after a 2-1 home win over Serie B side Feralpisalo in the round of 64. Torino’s most recent outing resulted in a 1-0 away win over Lecce, a result which snapped a five game winless drought. It was also Il Toro’s first goal since the end of September.  

Frosinone haven’t been a stranger to high-scoring matches as their last three matches have seen a total of 13 goals. The recently-promoted side is off to a decent start in the top flight with three wins, three draws and four defeats. Frosinone advanced to this stage of the Italian Cup with a 1-0 home win over Pisa back in mid August. They come into this match off the back of a devastating capitulation against Cagliari on the weekend. The Canarini conceded four unanswered goals in the second half, including the final two in stoppage time, to blow a 3-0 first half lead and lose the game 4-3. They’ll have to pick themselves up and recover quickly if they are to put an end to their current two match losing streak. Frosinone are on a run of three defeats over their last four and have yet to win away from home.
