Rugby lovers will be in for a treat this weekend, with the sixth round of Currie Cup matches getting underway on Friday at the Shark Tank when the Cell C Sharks take on the Vodacom Blue Bulls. The hosts will be right up for this match after pulling off an incredible 19-12 win last week at this venue against the current log leaders, the Free State Pumas. The Sharks put on an excellent defensive display in that match to contain the speedy Puma side and emerged victorious thanks to a converted Tiaan Fourie try and four penalties off the boot of the impressive Fred Zeilinga. The Sharks are now up to fourth in the Currie Cup standings with a record of 3-2 in their five matches so far, picking up two bonus points along the way. The Sharks will benefit from the return of several players returning from injury and the Heineken Cup, and in front of their home fans, they will be expected to put on a solid performance. 

Meanwhile, the Blue Bulls are yet to find their rhythm in this tournament, owing in part to several of their regular first-team members playing in other tournaments. The visitors are currently second-from-bottom with just one win in their first five matches, though they have scored as many as four bonus points so far, meaning they are just two points behind the Griqauas in sixth place. After four consecutive losses in their first four matches of the tournament, the Bulls managed to register their first win in their last match against the Griquas, beating them comprehensively 40-3, scoring six tries and five conversions. However, they come up against a much stronger opponent this time around and may find it hard to contain the Sharks on their home patch.
