Taylor Fritz vs Federico Coria Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open

Taylor Fritz is the 12th seed at Roland Garros and meets unseeded Federico Coria in round one on Tuesday. Fritz is the world number 12 but a place higher in the Live ATP Race. The American has reached the quarter-finals in his last two Grand Slam events. On clay at Roland Garros though, his best performance is getting to the third round in 2020 and 2023. He has shown improved form on clay this year and will have hopes of having his best run in Paris. Fritz lost in the final of the BMW Open in Munich and then reached the last four in Madrid with wins over Sebastian Baez and Hubert Hurkacz. He continued his good form with a run to the quarter-finals in Rome but then lost in his first match in Geneva last week. He's had one previous match against Coria, a hard court win in 2021 losing only three games.

Federico Coria is at 71st in the latest rankings and a place lower in the ATP Race. He's up to 67th in the live rankings but that's still 18 places short of his career-high. The Argentinian reached the final of a clay court Challenger Tour event in late January and then had some good form on the ATP Tour. There was a semi-final in Cordoba, followed by another in his next tournament in Buenos Aires. Coria hasn't been able to transfer that kind of form to the European clay court swing. Aside from a couple of Challenger Tour quarter-finals, he's not won two matches in an ATP Tour main draw in his last eight tournaments. He got to the third round at Roland Garros in 2020 but the last two years have seen him lose in the first round. We go for Fritz to win this match in straight sets.
