Auckland will be aiming to take a step closer to the A-League title this weekend when they travel to the Allianz Stadium to face Sydney FC on Saturday. The Sky Blues are sixth after 22 games, while the Black Knights lead the league standings. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Sydney will need to regroup this weekend after suffering a 2-0 defeat in the first leg of their AFC Champions League Two semi-final clash against Lion City Sailors FC in midweek.
The Sky Blues now return to their domestic league campaign, having last beaten Adelaide United 3-2, thanks to an Adrian Segecic goal in the dying moments of the match.
While the hosts have now lost only one of their last seven league games, they have only won one of their last five at home (W1 D2 L2). However, they did score two or more goals in four of those matches.
Meanwhile, Auckland looked well on course to wrap up the title with a handful of games to spare, but they have found wins hard to come by lately and have seen their lead at the top of the table narrow.
Last week, the Black Knights were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Western Sydney Wanderers, marking their fourth stalemate in their last five matches dating back to the start of March.
On the road, the visitors have been very good this season, currently unbeaten in their last five matches, while having only conceded one defeat in 10 away games this term (W6 D3 L1).

Our Sydney vs Auckland FC Prediction
While Sydney are showing up as favourites in this match, they will undoubtedly have one eye on their AFC Champions League Two clash next week, which could force them into a few changes in this match.
Auckland have been the best team in the league this season, but they have been leaking goals cheaply of late, and we feel that both sides will find the back of the net in this match. Our Sydney FC vs Auckland prediction is both teams to score.
