Swansea City will be at home to welcome Blackburn Rovers as the English Championship returns for round 35. The two teams are tied on 39 points in the standings with Rovers in 16th edging Swansea in 17th on goals scored. Swansea won the reverse match 1-0 back in October and will be eager to earn the same result. A win will not only see them leapfrog their visitors but could see them move seven points clear of the relegation zone. At the moment, Luke Williams’ men sit just four points above the drop zone and cannot afford to lose. They gave their survival hopes a big boost last time out away to Sunderland. The Swans 2-1 to end a two-game skid. This was their 10th win of the season and only the second in their last nine outings.

Blackburn Rovers are also in a similar precarious position as Swansea and cannot afford to lose here. John Eustace’s men are only ahead of Swansea by virtue of having scored five more goals than them. They have won one more match than their soon-to-be hosts but have lost two more games. Rovers, who haven’t won an away match since November, come to this match having not won in five outings. They have lost twice in this stretch with the more recent setback coming in midweek as they exited the FA Cup. Blackburn were defeated on penalties by Premier League side Newcastle after their fifth-round tie had ended 1-1 after extra time. The Riversiders won both home and away against Swansea last season and secured a 3-0 result away from home.
