Supersport United vs Orlando Pirates Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier Soccer League

Arguably the pick of the matches in the PSL this weekend will see Supersport United playing host to Orlando Pirates on Saturday. The hosts are currently second in the league standings, while the visitors are third. Supersport finished in third place last season, behind this opponent, and they look destined to fight it out again this term behind Sundowns. The hosts moved up to second place last week after Cape Town City took a 1-0 loss to Stellenbosch the same weekend. That leaves Supersport on 26 points after 14 games, seven behind the Brazilians. They also managed to claim their first points in the CAF Confederation Cup in midweek, beating Al Hilal 2-1 at this venue. While Matsatsantsa have been good in attack this season, they have already shipped 15 goals, which is the fourth most of any side in the top flight. Still, with four wins in six home games this season, Supersport are the favourites in this one. 

Meanwhile, after failing to win a league match between late September and early November, Orlando Pirates seem to have re-found their form. They have gotten themselves back into the top three, just one point behind their opponents. The Buccaneers secured a 2-1 win over Golden Arrows last weekend, marking their third consecutive league win and sixth match unbeaten. Notably, Pirates have been excellent in defence of late. That goal conceded to Arrows is the only one that they have allowed in their last six league games since losing to Cape Town Spurs on November 1. The visitors are also unbeaten in their last three away games, including wins over Kaizer Chiefs and Arrows, either side of a draw against Richards Bay. Pirates won the last meeting between these sides 1-0 and will be much fresher here since they were not involved in continental cup action during the week.
