After a week of cup football, Ligue 1 returns with Strasbourg taking on high-flying Lens at Stade de la Meinau on Wednesday. Both teams are heading in opposite directions in the league at present, and Strasbourg will be hoping to put an end to their seven-match winless streak in Ligue 1, while Lens are unbeaten in their last seven matches. In their last match, Strasbourg was beaten by Troyes 3-2 and remained in nineteenth place with eleven points from seventeen matches. They have failed to win in nine Ligue 1 contests at home this season, drawing five and losing four. Over their last six matches, Strasbourg has drawn three and lost three. Strasbourg has only won one match in the league so far this entire season and will find it very difficult against a Lens side that has only lost once this season. 

Lens has earned thirteen points from twenty-four available in their away league matches, having won three and drawn four. Lens' last Ligue 1 match saw them triumph 3-1 over Paris Saint-Germain at home, extending their unbeaten streak to seven, with six wins and a draw. This has placed them in the second spot with forty points through seventeen matches, four points behind the current league leader PSG. Lens has not been defeated away since October 2022 against Lille, which was their only loss this season. They come into this one currently on a three-match away unbeaten streak with two wins and a draw in their recent fixtures. The visitors will look to extend their excellent form this season with another win over a side that seems destined to be relegated unless they can pull off something special in the second half of the season.
