Stoke City will welcome promotion-chasing West Bromwich Albion at the Bet365 Stadium for their next Championship game, scheduled for Saturday. Heading into this fixture, Stoke City are just five points above the relegation zone while West Brom are fifth. The hosts have garnered 45 points so far and can't afford not to look over their shoulders in the survival race. One loss in their last four matches represent an improvement for Stoke City. They have collected seven points in that run and those could prove key in the latter stages of the season. To this game, they carry a two-game unbeaten run, the most recent of them a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town. The Potters had Ki-jana Hoever to thank for the point earned after his 50th minute equalizer. These two sides meet for the third time this season, after their earlier League Cup game in August. Stoke City have the head-to-head advantage in the opening two exchanges. They won the cup meeting then the reverse league fixture ended 1-1.

West Bromwich Albion’s chances of securing an automatic promotion slot are very slim. A playoff place is however a strong possibility for them. They will make a third attempt at beating Stoke City this season, to keep their top six hopes going. As things stand, they are eight points clear of seventh placed Coventry City; some breathing space in the chase for a playoff spot. From losing positions in the last two matches, West Brom rose to claim two points. Their most recent comeback saw them rise from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Watford. Brandon Thomas-Asante and Darnell Furlong’s goals secured a point for West Brom at home to Watford. That marked their eighth unbeaten outing while the Baggies have just one loss in 12 matches. Three of their last five matches have however returned draws, while they have just one clean sheet in seven. Things haven't been great for West Brom on the road; they have just two wins in the last nine away games. Four of their last six away matches ended in draws.
